Usually when there is a corrupt file, however, you get a dialog box that tells you that. I would create a test league, and make sure the game is working properly. Let us know how it goes.

Actually, I DID restart my league from scratch. I am pretty sure I know what happened. In 1958, my UBA had its first expansion, adding four teams to the 16 original franchises. I never paid any attention to the minor leagues until around '62 when neither UBA league was generating much of a pennant race, so I turned to the minor league playoffs. It was then I noticed that many of the teams were geographically not feasible (Anaheim in a division of all East Coast clubs), and unbalanced divisions (six teams in one and four in the other).
After the season was over, I moved some teams and realigned the divisions so they were even and made sense. However, I forgot to regenerate a new schedule! I have a sinking feeling that when the game started simming, it crashed due to the incorrect schedule and messed the league up.
Fortunately, I was able to at least save my ballcap and jersey files, so most teams had the same uniforms when I restarted. Also, I learned a few things about OOTP 2007 that helped me when I restarted the UBA, so hopefully I can avoid some of the oddities that arose over the 52-year history.
