I don't think their pitching staff needs help via a trade. They have 3 promising young starters in DeSilva, Hughes and Clippard. Rasner is a good young arm, but I think he should stay in the pen. With Moose, Pettitte, Wang and Clemens also in the rotation, I don't see how trading away anything for a starter would be a good move. Now, if they could have gotten Santana in that deal, I wouldn't be crying
But, I don't want to see them deal kiddies for a veteran pitcher. I'd rather write off this year to see the potential of the young pitchers they have.
As for the Giambi deal, I don't know whether I like it or not. I've always liked Figgins, but I have no idea where they would play him and he's been in an awful slump this year.
