Another big league season is over for the clubs that didn't make the playoffs. Again, I'm on one of those clubs. We went 67-94 and finished last in the division again. We didn't make much progress as far as our win total goes, but we really have some hope. Our minor league system is touted as one of the best, and we have a ton of young major leaguers--in fact, I'm one of the older guys on the team. So I think next season we can definitely get over .500, maybe even challenge for the division.
Win or lose, I gave it my best this year. I still think there's room for me to improve. I feel like I have the talent to be one of the better second basemen in the majors, but this year my play was only average. I need to stick with my training regimen, keep trying to bulk up a little, and learn to lay off the ball in the dirt. These are some of the same things I've been working on throughout my career, but big league pitching can really expose your weaknesses. I'm looking forward to another season in Tampa.
