HBO: Boxing After Dark

Chris Arreola 9-5-1 (6) vs. Malcolm Tann 6-5-0 (4)

Last minute replacement, Malcolm Tann surprisingly takes the 1st two rounds and taunts Arreola at the end of each round. Tann yells at Arreola and tells him “Come on, I’ve taken your best shot!” Tann continues to completely dominant all aspects of the fight. We have Tann winning by a good margin entering the 6th. In an unbelievable development, the referee stops the fight due to low blow fouls and Tann losses by (DQ6). Tann was ahead on all cards at the time of the disqualification.

“Fast” Eddie Chambers 8-4-2 (3) vs. Dominick Guinn 9-3-1 (7)

Guinn was a highly regarded boxer when he entered the professional ranks but hasn’t quite realized his potential. Chambers is off to an inconsistent pro career and would like to have a statement-type of fight that might propel him towards bigger fights and paydays. So far, Guinn has used his size and weight advantage by leaning on Chambers and forcing him to fight off the ropes. Guinn lands the better blows on the inside and keeps the distance with his jab. Chambers doesn’t seem to be able to get within hitting distance in the first three rounds. Rounds 4 and 5 have seen Guinn revert back to the bad habits of not working that we have seen in his last few fights. Forget what I just said! The Southern Disaster just unleashes a barrage of punches and flattens Chambers with 32 seconds remaining in the 6th. Guinn wins in exciting fashion (KO6).
