How does one develop a player?
Hey there. I've managed to completely stock my farm system with mountains of all-star talent, but I was wondering how one goes about nurturing them to realize their potential. Many of these guys are putting up good stats in Triple A, and the minor league system report says they're "Major league ready." But most of these guys have awful current ratings and would be sitting on a log until they improved if I called them up. Some practical pointers would be much appreciated here: what's important to make sure they reach their next level? Do I need to put them on my active roster? Do they need major league/minor league playing time? (The manual says not, if I recall, at least for the majors). How long of a stint in the majors should I give them before I see improvement? Should I wait till roster expansion? How do I pick which players to move up? I know that's a lot of questions, but I feel a little out to sea on the issue. How do ya'll go about it?
