Unrealiatic play by Play--two examples

Example 1
Swung on . . .
Driven hard and High . . .
Down the Line to Deep left field . . .
That falls for a base hit.

Issue: Huh? Driven high and hard to deep left and it "falls for a base hit"? Line drives fall for base hits. So do bloopers dying quails. Balls driven to high and deep to left go over the fence, hit the wall, maybe end up a gapper, but they don't "fall for basehits."

Example 2

Acevedo slides in hard . . .
Goeble applies the tag . . .
here's a close call . . .
Acevedo beats it out! Safe!

No no no. Ruuners sliding home "avoid the tag", sometimes they "beat the tag", they even "get in under the tag" They do not "beat it out". Only runners who get to First base ahead of the throw "Beat it out". That's just how it is, how it has always been and how it always must be !
