The problem is, his heir apparent is no longer apparent. That is, the guy who was running the team recently, giving Brian Cashman the flexibility and authority to do his job well, the guy who rightly supported Joe Torre last October, George's soon-to-be-ex-son-in-law Steve Swindal, is no longer in charge. My concern is whether either of George's two sons is capable, willing, and interested enough to own the team properly, even if that just means letting true baseball people run the team.
