) to strike out a power hitter with "a slow forkball he hadn't thrown much since high school in New Castle, Penn" in his second ML start! That says something to me about his high level of confidence, which is something I am always looking for in a pitcher. It is extraordinary to me when I see it in a rookie like DeSalvo. Maybe I should say "noteworthy" because others here will say it's a prerequisite to doing well in the major leagues, but it bodes well nonetheless IMO.
