I think everybody forgot that Luis Terrero is on the major league roster. When Pods comes back, if Sweeney stays, Terrero goes. However, I think it would be that would be a very unwise choice, for reasons stated above. Terrero's ceiling is as a good-glove no-hit backup, where Sweeney's ceiling is still TBD and he needs to play regularly.
Either way, Sweeney will be sent back down when both Pods and Thome are healthy.
In related news,
Thome and Hall are both set to go on rehab assignments in Charlotte right now. Thome is expected back next week, Hall's return is up in the air, but the Sox are still hoping for late May.
Hopefully, Hall will bring his MAD JEDI SKILLZ!
