Historical League stats don't match

I'm trying to create a new historical league based on last years stats with version 5 of the Lahman Database. I choose 2002 as the import year, but I have two problems.

First, I want the starting year of my league to be 2003, and not 2002, because I want to continue the historical league from where the last season left off, not recreate the last season... is this possible? Right now, my new historical league wants to start on 4/1/2002... and I can't seem to change it. If I put 2003 in as the import year, it says there isn't any data for 2003 (for obvious reasons...)

Second problem, the stats for 2002 are getting imported into my new 2002 season, however, they are getting imported as 2001 stats on the OVERALL STATS (which I just noticed "overall pitching" actually says "overall BATTING"), but if you look at the CAREER STATS the numbers for 2001 are the actual 2001 stats... follow me? Okay, here's an example:

Freddy Garcia - Looking at his CAREER STATS, it says he went 18-6 with a 3.05 ERA and 163 K's. These are indeed Freddy Garcia's 2001 totals. Now, if I switch over to OVERALL PITCHING, it shows his 2001 numbers as 16-10 with a 4.39 ERA and 181 K's. These are his 2002 stats, not his 2001 stats... in CAREER STATS he has no 2002 information, because it's beginning the Historical League on 4/1/2002. Also, the GENERAL INFO section reports his actual 2002 stats as his 2001 stats the same way OVERALL PITCHING is in the BASIC STATS area.

Is there a way to correct either of these two problems?

On a side note: Anybody know of a downloadable Player Photos file for all (or most of) the real life/historical players?
