In one of my historical leagues in Beta Testing Joe Jackson had a 56 game hitting streak spread over two seasons. Here is my original post

Then was injured and out until the next season. The next season he hits in the first 5 games to set the bar. The only anomaly is that in the real schedule the Athletics did not play on April 22, 1924.
