I wasn't here, but didn't OOTP 6 have 'patient' owners and ones that were more touchy? I'm having no problems with my guy so far:

1901: Owner wants me to win it all. I take the AL pennant but lose the as yet unnamed championship.

1902: Ditto and ditto.

1903: Owner wants me to make the playoffs. I barely beat .500 for 3rd place.

I think MUCH of this has to do with financials.
