ALCS
GM 1: Tampa Bay 4 Memphis 1
GM 2: Tampa Bay 2 Memphis 1
GM 3: Tampa Bay 3 Memphis 1
GM 4: Tampa Bay 4 Memphis 1
NLCS:
GM 1: Portland 8 Santa Maria 2
GM 2: Portland 3 Santa Maria 1
GM 3: Santa Maria 4 Portland 3
David Wright's clutch single in the 9th, scored a runner from third to win the game to keep the Marshals undefeated at home this postseason.
GM 4: Santa Maria 4 Portland 3
A late rally by Portland in the top half of the eighth narrowed the lead 4-3, but Santa Maria's bullpen calmed down and managed to pull out the victory to tie the series at 2 games apiece.
GM 5:
Mauro Ayala was activated for Game 5. A HUGE boost for the Marshals. He's our leadoff hitter and just brings a measure of calm and leadership to the ballclub. Not to mention his 76 steals this season will be a boost too.
Santa Maria 8 Portland 3
Jerome Holmes makes his first postseason start and gives up 2 earned in 5 innings of work. Orlando Caballero was extremely effective in relief, scattering just three hits in 4 innings of relief work, to give the Marshals their fifth win at home this post-season. The bad thing? They haven't won a road game all post-season and Portland too is undefeated at home.
Something has to give with a berth to the World Series at stake.
GM 6: Portland 2 Santa Maria 0
Despite 10 hits, the Marshals couldn't get the job done and the Series will now head to decisive seventh game.
GM 7:
Marshals playoff ace Wayne Allman is all of 21-years old. But when it comes to the playoffs, he's got just a 1.13 ERA. If it's a time to put up or shut up, now is that time.
And it turned out not to be a battle that we could win. Portland was undefeated at home for a reason and ultimately, this series came down to a whole lot of missed opportunities for my kids from Santa Maria. We're a team of young kids, even if we have some veterans sprinkled in.
And the bottom line is, when it was time to produce or to put up...a lot of the guys we count on for that, simply weren't there to make it happen.
So we'll go home for another year. Make no mistake, to come back from a year with an entirely remade roster and get to within a game of the World Series -- when last year, we only mustered one win the LCS -- is an accomplishment. But what I realize is, it won't get easier for us, it's just going to get harder to replicate this sort of success year in and year out.
So it's incumbent to make moves that will allow us to sustain that success over a period of time, rather than to expect that we'll make it this far, because all teams are just an injury or three away from a wasted season.
We lost Game 7 of the NLCS in the bottom of the 10th, after the Beavers managed to score.
So close..and yet, it wasn't meant to be for one more year.

Tampa swept the ALCS and so, the 2015 World Series will pit Portland (NL) v. Tampa Bay (AL)
