Carrasco Over Talamantez In a Walk

Sevilla, Spain: In a complete miss-match, Spanish Lightweight champion Pedro Carrasco demolished veteran journeyman Jose Talamantez (16-45-8). Twenty-six seconds after the opening bell, Carrasco dug two shots into Talamantez' bread-basket that doubled him over in pain. Carrasco battered his man for nearly half a minute more before landing a wicked cross to the head that sent Talamantez over backward and to the canvas. A ten count was issued but referee Fred Steinwinder III could have gone on counting all night; Talamantez wasn't going anywhere. The fight actually goes in the books as a title defense and improves Carrasco's record to 13(7)-2-0.
