I grew up in the Loo so I'm unfortunately afflicted, but I wasn't quite as much of a diehard after he retired, until the recent resurgence. Ozzie remains my favorite athlete of all-time. Just incredibly fun to watch and probably the smartest player (in terms of ballplaying intelligence) that I've ever seen. As good as the recent St. Louis teams have been, I still prefer Whitey's teams from the '80s. Ozzie, Willie, Vince (before his troubled Mets days), Tommy Herr, Jack Clark, Joaquin Andujar, John Tudor, Joe Magrane, Bruce Sutter, Lee Smith... personality across the board.
