Oh, mercy, no. The weekend games are, on average, the best-attended games during the regular season.
Baseball players don't get to see their families as much during the summer, but they all get most of the fall and winter off to sit around the house and count their money.
Baseball is the only sport that schedules games in "series", though. Basketball and Hockey is one game and then move on to the next city, usually with a day or two or three off in between games - then again, regular season basketball and hockey schedules are half the length of baseball schedules, so they can afford the travel days more.
