Speaking of I. Rodriquez I've always thought that was the worst deal the Rangers ever did was letting Pudge get away. I was a BIG fan of the Rangers while pudge was on the team and kinda lost interest as he and Gonzales and other greats from the team started disappearing. You ever notice how many players go on to be stars that origionally started out on the Rangers???!! Pudge is another player I attempt to get as well.
I'm the type that will trade every 5 star prospect I get to build the team I want NOW instead of building for the future. I find future building just keeps you behind as when you finally get one that's ready another is ready for retirement or free agency or something that screws the whole process. I usually always build a winner by the 2nd year after starting a league. Many times the first year if the Rangers still have some decent players to trade away. This year man they don't have crap, Blalock and Texieria are getting older. Blalock isn't the batter he used to be. Mench is gone (another stupid trade). Soriano is gone (another stupid loss). Nix, he just lost it last year. He may never return to status. Dullucci he was a favorite as well. he's one of those hero batters. He suks most of the time, but, in a given situation when the game is on the line he'd come thru with a shot, he's gone as well. Now they got these new kids on the block I don't see much talent in yet. Kinda boring to watch them now.
They get an old hasbeen in Sosa just for fan interest, he's not going to do squat this year you watch. I get soooo pissed cause the Rangers won't get any Pitching talent except old hasbeens. Rogers and Ryan to name a couple, dang can't remember that OLD knuckle baller (I wanna say Charlie Huff is that him?) they had in the old days. They've always had OLD pitching or rookie pitchers they gave up who went on to become good pitchers elsewhere, then when they get old they get them back. lol Who's Ricky Helling playing for these days? lol Didn't they have Kevin Brown at one time also?? They had a good closer in Osuka (sp) and what do they do they go and get ANOTHER CLOSER in Gagne when they need STARTING PITCHERS!!
Lol If only I could be the owner/manager for a couple of years for the Rangers and given an open checkbook. I'd give the fans something to cheer about. I would go out and make a deal for Mark Prior and Albert Pujols.
Beg Roger Clemons to pitch just two years for me. lol Add some speed to the top of the batting order and contact hitting for more base stealing and h/r opportunities. I could live with Soriano back at second base. Find a 5 star prospect pitcher to put in the rotation at 2nd or 3rd spot and then take over the division.
Bring Pudge back in as catcher. Just a lil over 100,000,000 budget and I think I could build a nice team out of the Real Rangers. haha I always do in OOTPBB lol.
