For what it is worth, I noticed something similar in one of my leagues... the game froze for a minute or two during load (I think it was at loading teams 50%). The league was brand new, 16 team league with all 5 minors and was still at the inaugural draft.
I never saw this at all during the entire beta test, and had made plenty of leagues like the above. I will see if it I can reproduce and figure anything out when I get home tonight.
