eMLB seeks two dedicated ownes

Hi guys,

Electronic Major League Baseball (eMLB - www.emlb-baseball.com) is midway through its 14th season (Year is 2013). eMLB is a part-fictional, mostly modern league, where I've added 150 new Major Leaguers every year during the 5 Round Ammy Draft, to keep the league as modern as possible. This season, due to learning OOTP 2006, I limited my Modern Players addition to the Ammy Draft down to at least 50.

eMLB has been run by me since July 19th, 2000. We started as a High Heat League, and converted 3 years ago to OOTP 5. We've enjoyed OOTP ever since, and are in mid-July of our first season in OOTP 2006.

Here's the teams:

Florida Marlins: Once one of the most dominant teams in the league, the Marlins have fallen on hard times since their 8 NL East Division titles and 2 World Series appearances. All that success has not lead to a title, and management has not remained consistent, thereby slowing down their upside potential. Going into this season, the Marlins are a career 1236-870 (.587 win pct, 4th best win record in league history), and are currently 43-54 this season. Chances are this season is lost, but its time to focus on building this once powerful juggernaut of the East. The pitching core is fairly solid, lead by Staff Ace Gerald Johnson (14-6, 2.86 ERA), and cagy veteran Matt "Mac" McClendon (7-4, 3.14). The team also sports one of the best closers in Archibald Allison (2-1, 1.85 ERA - 24 Saves). The team isn't particularly old, has a lot of prospects to work with in the minors (3rd best system), and is good financial shape to land potential Free Agents this offseason.

New York Mets: The Mets are a perfect example of a team desperately needing an owner that will stay put. The best owner it had was an egotistical New Yorker who unfortunately ruffled too many feathers, including calling his Commish at 2 AM with a sleeping (and pregnant) wife near him. Since then, there hasn't been a consistent face at Shea to guide the team. The Mets are a career 970-1136 (.461), and one of only 6 teams to never see October baseball in the league's 14 year history. The Mets are definitely more of a project, but have help in the form of a very low financial budget, and at least $10 million in contracts coming off this season. It has its young superstars like Mike Jacobs & Gene Wilson to build around, but will need more help. If this team can find an owner with a game plan that will stick around to see through it, the Mets will be a dangerous team to contend with. With better offensive weapons, and a more consistent starting rotation, the Mets could be contending for at least the Wild Card.

eMLB offers:

- $85 million salary cap
- "Game of the Week" format: One game from time to time will be played in an AIM Chat room by two owners.
- Complete usage of Scouts and Coaches (I understand this is a turnoff to some, but we're giving this work in progress a chance with patience)
- Proactive E-Board
- Article Compensation System
- 2 sim nights a week (Sun/Weds normally)
- Leagues to be used besides eMLB is Japan (INT and AAA), Cuba and Dominican Winter League. A posting system is being created to claim players that are stars from other leagues and not Free Agents, as worked on by the E-Board.
- eMLB SportsNet, complete news website
- Knight Waves: An audio show done by Ethan Knight, WHAM's top on air personality, and Boston based sports writer.

What you need to do:

- Have the game (OOTP 2006)
- Have an AIM account (Not required but highly preferred)
- Be a serious committed owner (Maturity matters, we're an older core - Avg age is 32 of owners)
- Be patient (There are a couple teams who dominate...fight to change that!)
- Have a baseball mind (We're not looking for those who trade 8 times before their first game begins)
- Not be in 35 other leagues (We don't need to be your only league, but we don't want the Jeff Cobbs of the world who are everywhere...how can you focus!?)
- Be patient with your Commish (I am an entrepreneur who has a 1 yr old business, and a 2 year old daughter... I need to focus on those & my wife and bill paying very much!)
- Believe the longevity of the league is around for a reason (I still enjoy doing this 6+ years later, despite the new distractions in my life. I always find time for it)

If you're interested, please contact me on AIM under the screenname 'Naydok', or you can e-mail me at commissioner@emlb-baseball.com. Please indicate your preferred choice of teams.

Please Note! We're not looking to take the first-come, first-serve here. We want serious owners, but we feel we have the right to get to know you a bit.

Look forward to talking to you!
