July has come to a close.

Nomars stats:

SB: 9 - CS: 4 - 2B: 21 - 3B: 7 - R 85- BB - 37 K - 17

Other notes:

Boston has captured 1st place and holds a slim 1 game lead over the Yankees and just 4 games over Baltimore. The Red Sox record this year so far is 59-43

Nomar is running away as league leader in average, Manny Ramirez is the closest at 19 points behind.

Pedro is 9-2 with a 1.83 ERA, and Tim Wakefield is back in the rotation, he's got a 4-2 record and 4.53 ERA in 7 starts. However he is 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA in the 2 starts he has made since returning to the majors.

Nomar is tied with Manny in 14th in RBI in the AL, tied with A- Rod for 11th in HR, 3rd behind Manny and Jim Thome in OBP, 3rd behind Ramirez and Palmeiro in SLG, and 2nd behind only Manny in OPS.

Martinez is 1st in ERA in the majors.

Some new faces came to Boston before the trade deadline ended. Including Jeff Cirillo (.313-7-33) who came in return for Cormier (4-1 3.41).

Also Nomar was NOT selected to the all-star team.

Thats all for tonight I'll finish this season off tomarrow.
