Having been here since V3 (2001) I can vouch for the fact that every year is the same. Defenders, Vilifiers, and the vast MAJORITY in between.

OOTP 2007 will be exactly like all other updates. It will thrill some, anger others, and sell to the majority of followers. To me, the posts worth paying attention to are those posted by the majority that criticizes tactfully and is interested more in helping advance the game than starting a cult.

I said in another post, keep aware of your love of the game, and focus your attention on helping improve it - even if this is yet the 2nd or 3rd time you've pointed out what you feel is a problem.

OOTP2007 is not even the same game OOTP 3 was, thus progress is not only possible, but is measurable.

To those who insist on standing at a busy intersection preaching the end of the world, ask yourself if anyone is listening.
Yeah, even when you are criticizing, it's best to be constructive. Markus has a good track record of listening and responding, even as the game has gotten much more complex and, I'm sure, difficult to do that with. Sure, there are nagging issues that hang around forever sometimes, but when people post constructive criticism, he usually does something to address it, even if it's just to explain why things don't work the way people would like (e.g. a desired feature would slow the game down too much).
