Long time OOTP'er, but now I'm wanting to set up an historical LAN league at work. My question is: Which year is best, for starting in? I'm sure there are enough historical online leaguers who can give their two cents, on which years are good for starting up, and which years are somewhat of a dud to start. Obviously, I'm looking for a good exciting year, since this will drum up extra interest in the office, which translates into more owners.

P.S. I'm trying for anything BEFORE 1970. I figure, if I pick a season before anyone at the office was following baseball, the "fog of war" effect would be greater.
