Team Record: 26-51
Sim Record: 2-7
Games
6/21 - 11-4 loss @ California - Kyle Warner makes his first error as Rams shortstop, but he does have an RBI single in his major league debut. John O'Parra got hit up for 6 runs in 0.2 innings. So much for moving him up to the #4 spot in our pitching order. Leandro Mingo also had 3 hits.
6/22 - 9-3 loss @ California - Crosswell lost his 9th straight decision and Vin Koenig scored 2 runs as we got crushed by California.
6/23 - 3-1 loss @ California - Mingo was the only one with multiple hits. McKie pitched well enough to win, but our offense was really lacking in this one with just 7 hits.
6/24 - 7-0 loss @ California - 4 hits in total for us (with Diaz getting two of them). Paul Long get torched for 7 runs on 7 hits in 2.1 innings.
6/25 - 3-2 loss @ Nevada - Kyle Warner hit the first homerun of his career and James Walsh scored the tying run in the top of the ninth only to have Jose Langlois give that run right back in the bottom of the inning.
6/26 - 5-1 loss @ Nevada - O'Parra pitches effectively and Kyle Warner hits his second homerun in as many days, but its not enough as Armando Campana holds us to just 1 run on 6 hits (to raise his record to 4-11... wow, we can't even beat
bad pitchers).
6/27 - 17-11 WIN @ Nevada (11 innings) - We used our entire bullpen in this one with Suggs getting the win with 2 perfect innings of work. 6 runs crossed the plate in the 11th inning on 2 doubles (Diaz and our pitcher, Suggs), a triple (Mingo) and a whole host of walks. Here's how our top three did: Mingo (3-5, 3 runs, 3 hits, 3 RBI, 2 BB), Diaz (4-7, 4 runs, 4 hits, 1 RBI), and Koenig (4-5, 4 runs, 4 hits, 5 RBI, 1 BB).
6/28 - Off Day
6/29 - 7-2 loss vs Illinois - Long pitches well (yet still gets the loss), but our bullpen blew this one giving up 4 runs in two innings (Ward Chee being the main offender giving up 2 ER in 0.1 innings, which is why he isn't my closer anymore). Diaz hit his 5th homerun of the year.
6/30 - 10-5 WIN vs Illinois - McKie evens out his record at 5-5 with a not so hot performance. Our offense was just clicking. Mingo (3 RBI), Koenig (3 hits, 2 RBI), and Oakley (3 hits, 3 RBI) all starred in this one with Oakley winning the PotG.

The trade of Kinchen didn't do anything to help us out in the short term, but it wasn't meant to.

Steelman has been our best pitcher, we just need to give him some run support. If I hadn't moved Crosswell down, he could have made a run at 20 losses.
Also, I should note, Arnie Stier is now our closer. He's pitching better than anyone in the pen, so that's where he should be.

The trade of Jake Kinchen hurt our power supply, not that we had much of a power supply to begin with. I moved Carmona into the lineup to see what he could do because Jerkins was just
killing us. Jerkins may make it back into the lineup, we'll see how Carmona does.
Warner had a decent start as a Ram. He came over to Colorado as part of the Jacob Perl deal. He's a much better fielder than Kinchen ever was, but not as good with the bat. He's not the answer there, but he'll hold the ground until I can find something to go there (or until I bring up Naldo Reyes, who is currently in AA).

Still the #1 ranked minor league system in the league. Hennen, Massengill, and possibly Schuh are going to make the jump to the bigs later this year, or if not, definitely by next spring as half of my outfield is retiring.

Once he entered their lineup for good, he tore it up. It will remain to be seen whether or not this was a good trade. I tend to prefer pitching to hitting, and I felt that Perez has more upside than Kinchen at this point.
