If they didnt expect him to be there 3 years they would have never even went after him, because they would be put in the situation they are currently in.
It seems the higher ranked the kid, the less likely he is to be around for three years. They recruited him because he was a really good football player, not because they expected him to be around for x years. If they did, they were stupid, just as they should have learned from Kyle Williams, Willie Williams, Kalvin Bailey, etc. etc. insert 50 more names of guys who were the best at their positions coming out of HS in the past few years but aren't playing for the teams they signed with.

It's just a nitpick. People get into the video game mentality of football where they think if a college recruits a kid, that kid is going to be there to play out collegiate career 95% of the time. But that's not the way it goes in the real world. Between injuries, transfers, legal problems, academics, personal reasons, etc. etc., it would be bonehead for a college coach to expect a kid, no matter how good, to even see the field once, much less three or four years. That's why teams recruit 1-2 QB's every year and many try to keep four or five blue-chip HS recruits on the bench although only one can play at a time, and one may start every game for three straight years. You just can't expect that, though.
