In a correct world, the 13 clubs in MLS would have a fight for David Beckham (or at least the clubs that want him), and whoever makes the best offer lands him as long as the contract fits in the salary cap and is eligible for the Beckham rule, simple as that.

all 13 teams had a chance at Beckham, he was signed by LA on the designated player rule...he's their responsibility...he chose to play for LA and they chose to pay him.
