I was just going to list all the starting rotations of that year, but figured that it would be best if I just summed it all up and save you all from needless scrolling.
Keep in mind that we had a pretty decent offense. In the GEL, we were 4th (out of 12) in HRs, 1st in Stolen Bases, and 5th in Runs, RBI, and Average. But our pitching was spectacular.
We led the NPBL in pretty much all the significant pitching categories:
ERA - 2.55 - League ERA was 3.65 (Average in FFL was 3.40)
2nd in GEL - Kansas - 3.06
1st in FFL - Virginia - 2.97
Saves - 59
1st in FFL - Pennsylvania - 53
Hits Allowed - 1137
1st in FFL - Pennsylvania - 1151
Home Runs Allowed - 84
1st in FFL - Virginia - 105
2nd in GEL - Kansas - 144
Strikeouts - 1068
We were also third in the GEL in walks allowed.
I don't know if there is a way to compare pitching staffs from different era's, but I'd rank this pitching unit right up there. I'm not going to stay too long on my pedistal, because there have been better starting pitching staffs. But this one was great, no doubt.
