Halfway through, and it has been quite a year.

The Cubs are hitting .305 as a team, with plenty of power.

Despite all the hitting, they are dead last in walks in the entire league. If they had some guys who drew a walk, I don't know how they would ever lose.

All four starters have at least 10 wins. The bullpen is good, although I have raided it over the years to acquire better hitters.

Bubba's strikeout/innings ratio is the lowest of his career, at 8.2/9IP. I don't mind, and neither does he, as the Cubs score runs early, and often for him. I may dig into the stats and see what his run support is, I am sure it is excellent.

Bubba also has an ERA of 2.90 for the year....very low for him. He will probably fall back into the high 3's before the year is up, but with 18 more starts, I would like him to win 8 of them....and 20 for the year.

Bubba is the #4 starter, and truthfully, the number 5 guy could easily start ahead of him. I twinge a little bit at that, but hey, Bubba has now won 99 games for his career, and is just 30.

If the Cubs continue to be an excellent team, and there is no reason not to.....look for probably another 6-8 seasons of 15-20 wins for Bubba. Maybe 200+ wins for his career?

For Bubba to have ANY chance at the HOF, he need to pitch a long, long time, and get some longevity type records....complete games, IP, strikeouts, that sort of thing.

Bubba is 22nd amongst active pitchers in strikeouts, and complete games.
