How Quickly Things Change

How quickly things can change in the JL Atlantic. On 9/1 we stood at 1 game under .500 and 4 games in back of the Louisville Sluggers. On 9/11 we now stand at 3 games over .500, are riding a 4 game winning streak and now sit only 1 game behind the Sluggers.

The Bobwhites top performer of the sim has to be rookie, September call up, Kevin Drury. In his first Major League start Drury went 7 strong innings vs. Omaha, giving up only 2 hits and striking out 5. In his second start 5 days later he went 6.1 innings vs. Louisville, giving up 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 5. Only 22 years old, expect to see Drury in a Washington uniform for many years to come.

On the offensive side of things rookie SS Waichirou Moronobu had an outstanding sim as well. “Thumper” was 16 for 37 for .432 BA. Combine that with a .475 OBP and .676 SLG and Moronobu looks to be making a push for some Rookie of the Year consideration.

The Bobwhites will continue to try and keep things rolling with series coming up vs. Baltimore, Chicago and Madison.
