In my fictional Universal Baseball Association, I think the best names I have are from my minor league teams, where one can be more tongue-in-cheek:
*Manheim Steamrollers, AA team of the Hollywood Stars (I love Chip Davis' musical talent with this group)
*Quincy Emmies, A team of the Albuquerque Keystones (in honor of Jack Klugman's old coroner show)
*Wichita Ozmen, AAA team of the Dayton Dragons (in honor of Dorothy, Toto and the gang)
*Dayton Grits, A team of the same Dragon club (from an article called "Cutthroat Baseball" on four guys who played APBA)
*Waikiki Ten-hangers, A team of the Hollywood Stars (and the only minor league team that has no one who wants to climb to AA!)
*Montgomery Moonshiners, one of my 16 UBA parent clubs
*Maynard (MA) Moonshiners, the A team of the above 'Shiners
*Augusta Muckdogs, AA team of the 'Shiners
*Astoria River Rats, AAA team of the New Jersey Highlanders
*Indian Neck Injuns, A team of the Highlanders
*El Dorado Golddiggers, A team of the New Orleans Blues
*Macon Whoopies, AAA team of the Oklahoma Haymakers (a name very close to the that of the town's minor league hockey team, I notice)
*Vinton (LA) Hybrids, AA team of the Haymakers (and another team from that Cutthroat Baseball article)
*San Juan Peppers, AAA team of the Portland Pioneers
*Saskatoon Susquatch, AA team of the Pioneers
*Birdsboro (PA) Buzzards, A team of the Seattle Bridegrooms
*Staten Island Stogies, another of my 16 parent clubs in the UBA
*Worcester Wombats, A team of the Haymakers
*Tuscaloosa Hounddogs, AA team of the Washington Federals
