I wonder at what point today Borat (sorry Boras) will waiver. I'm reckoning at some point when Epstein and co are on their way to Lucchino's plane.
It's surely to Boras' advantage that Matsuzaka signs this year. If I was Mat and ended up being sent back to the Lions I wouldn't appoint Boras as my agent for next year's posting frenzy, and then he would lose out on him when he next becomes a free agent I would guess (burnt bridges and all that stuff)
I'm never a fan of agents. Jeez, if I was offered $6m a year but my agent said to hold out for $12m, I'd just take the $6m - any normal person could easily live on $100,000 a week (in fact most live on less than that a year)
If he does return to Japan, which I doubt will happen (Boras must have learnt from the Varitek and Weaver dealings), should the Sox put the $51,111,111.11 towards getting Zito and Clemens?
