I agree that this can assist in affecting a move toward resolution. However, given that stats are dynamic, it gives the AI yet another (larger) array of evaluation: stats over the last month, stats for the year, career stats, stats vs left-handers, and so forth. Who knows what Markus would deem appropriate in this version when bringing stats into play more? Stat swings could again force a player into desireable or non-desireable status. Teeter-totter, here we go again.

Frankly, this issue has reared its head often enough in previous versions and in this one, in varying frequencies, for me to suggest that OOTP may have finally make that move away from "OOTP does not know names." Well sure, it doesn't have to know who Catfish Hunter is, or Barry Bonds, and act accordingly, but it's time the AI developed some sort of record of memory that says, "Bobby Jackalmire? We just traded him last week. Why would we want to look at him again?" Of course I don't care if it knows it by Player ID or Jackalmire, but it's time the game began an evolution that involves truly knowing its own players by identity; coupled with compliance to actual MLB trade rules and your suggestion, I think the monster might well be restrained to a smaller cage.
