The Rays hit SP Steve Avery and RP Rich Garces hard to open game, scoring 9 runs off of 13 hits off the duo in 4.2 innings.

Darren Lewis's 2nd 2B of the game plated 2 to tie the game in the bottom of the 8th.

Troy O'Leary had 3 hits for the Sox, while Kevin Stocker had the same for the Rays.
