Madden defends title
August 11, 1911
Jack Madden (CH) (18-2) controlled his fight with Charles Goldman (5/6) (17-4-1) to win a MD15 and defend the WBA BW title for the first time.
The fight wasn't really that close with Madden winning 4 of the first 5 rounds to set the tone of the fight. There were a few close rounds in the fight but for the most part it was all Madden. Goldman suffered a cut under his left eye in the 8th and the eye started swelling later in the 10th.
I had it 147-142. TC Dale (RE) had it 145-142. The official judges had it 146-142/144-144/146-141.
