Heenan defends regional title
August 2, 1911
John Heenan (4/4) (28-8-1) knocked down Black Bill (UR) (12-1) (pre) 5 times in route to a UD12 for his second defense of the USBA HW title.
Heenan was in total control of this fight from the opening bell in what was an obvious mismatch. Bill was down in the 4th, twice in the 5th and twice in the 11th. Both of Bill's eyes were almost swollen shut.
I had it 119-104 while David Kear (RE) had it 118-107. All the official judges had it 119-104.
