Looks like Martinez will be the guy this week, as the others beat guys they were supposed to. Martinez beat two higher ranked fighters, and beating a 9-rated Gilberto Roman was highly unexpected.
Other fighters to exceed expectations:
- The beginner Jim Watt putting away tough veteran Art Aragon.
- 4-rated Isidro Perez drawing with 10-rated Santo Laciar (looks like Laciar squeaked out a victory over my other 4-rated Fly Cob Castro in a SD)
Mark has a tough squad, and I have no illusions that the Beavers are in any way superior. We just had a better day.

... the Barbarians' perspective, we got zip out of our heavyweights, Dokes and Mesi, in a situation where they should have been competitive. Roman losing twice at bantam and a couple of draws by key guys did me in. And to think I waived Perez ... argh!
Good job to the Beavers! This division may be the most competitive of all with the evenly matched returning teams and the best expansion outfit.
