I think this is how the game is played right now. If you want a patient team, you acquire or sign or draft players with high BB & BA talent/ratings. If you want aggressive hitters who don't strike out, you go out and get players who have good Speed and Avoid K talent/ratings. I'm just not sure what a "team philosophy" category would do for you when you already can shape and mold your team to look however you want.
Edit: After re-reading the thread, I agree with KoD that this would be a useful category to be able to assign to computer-operated teams. But, as Scott pointed out, this would have to be an ever-changing quality because of the dynamics of a baseball league.
