I agree with you, and that was last year, but.....
do you not agree that Boise St. would be in real trouble if they played in a more prominant conference. (Big 10, Pac 10, SEC, ect.) They have a nice program and I applaud their accomplishments. (I actually like them and pull for them. I would have LOVED to have seen them beat Georgia last season.) They were blown out against the only 2 ranked teams they played last year in the reg. season. (They played BC tough in their bowl game.) But, do you really think that they belong in the same category/rank as the top 10 or so BCS teams? I personally do not, but that is part of the reason why I think we need a playoff.
I also think that if BSU wants to be taken seriously as a "real" football power in D1, they need to beef up the non-conference schedule. I have checked the BSU website and they have some Pac 10 teams (Oregon St., Washington and Oregon) and a MAC team (Miami of Ohio.) so maybe they are trying to do this.
I'm sure that they are becoming the "team no one wants to schedule" for fear of an upset. We will see what happens if they go to a BCS bowl this year.
