Okay, thanks. So he gets at least $1.5 million no matter what, and if he takes his option he'll technically be making $3.75 million but netting $5.25 million for next year, right?

Hypothetically speaking, if the Sox said yes to the $7.5 million is Foulke then bound to the club and his part of the "mutual" option is void? In other words, he wouldn't be able to opt-out for $3.75 million could he?
