The only JFL team that have been accepted into next season's J. League - Rosso Kumamoto of Kumamoto City, Kyushu, lost by 1-0 at home to Tochigi SC. Rosso slipped to fourth, six points behind leaders and corporate team Honda FC, and one point behind the second placed corporate team Sagawa Kyubin Tokyo, with seven games of the season to go.
After being accepted on off-the-field issues, Rosso have to finish in the top two to be promoted, and after winning just two of their last five (including losing to both the above named teams) the J. League dreams that looked a certainty for most of the season now hang in the balance.
