I just had a completely different experience of the same thing (deja new?)

I've run into some problems with my Oriental universe (I'll post those separately), and I couldn't figure out how to add players to my 28 man roster for spring training. Then a guy added himself (I think). Anyway, now I have 29 guys on my roster, which reads '29 of 40'. Finally I decided to hit the 'let the computer plan your life for you' button. (I'm now married with three kids, but that's a different story.) The results were dramatic.

My parent club went from 29 to 39 players, AAA dropped from 28 to 25, AA from 27 to 7, and my secondary roster from 45 to 39, all of whom were now on the parent club. I thought this was pretty neat, until I realized that the numbers didn't add up. My first thought was that 13 players had been released, and I was going to have to hunt for replacements. Then I remembered the phantom players. They didn't show up on my depth chart, the pitching page, the lineup page, or the transactions page, but there they were on the roster page. You couldn't see them if you just looked for a particular team, but if you hit the button for 'entire organization', there they were. All on the parent club, and none of them available for use. It was almost as if they were on the disbled list. They're there, but you can't use them.

I'll try tranferring them back to the minors tomorrow, but that was enough to make me quit for today.
