July 27 - Republican presidential candidate Alf Landon announces that his running mate would be fellow Kansan senator, Charles Curtis. Some feel he is being foolish selecting someone from his own state as his running mate, but they can't deny that the popular Curtis is one of the most recognizable names in the nation.

This is a major error.

The electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves;

Remember how some fellows tried to claim Cheney was a Texan?
