If the tables were turned yesterday, all we'd hear about is how "Johan is unbeatable at home" and "Minnesota has all the momentum after winning the Central".
Zito pitched a "solid game"? 8 IP, 4 hits, 1ER, no hits through 5 innings, all in what is without a doubt the most hostile environment to pitch in for a visitor in baseball? He outpitched the best pitcher in baseball, plain and simple. The A's got timely hitting, the Twins did not. There's nothing wrong with the loss, IMO it was a fantastic game regardless of the outcome, and SHOULD HAVE been the prime-time game instead of the 2 laughers that came after.

The A's haven't been getting credit all year. "How does this team win with such a horrible offense?" "They don't bunt, they don't steal..." "Moneyball... blah blah blah..."
They are out to prove something. The Hudson/Mulder/Zito teams were expected to go deep into the playoffs. This one is not. Maybe it's better that way.
