Well if he pitches the final game of the season as he's scheduled to - on a pitch count of 90 - you would figure that he'll be ready to go full strength in the playoffs. I wouldn't mind one more tuneup for him.
Of course, simple counting on my fingers shows that he would be available for Game 3 (10/6 - my b-day!!), and not have to wait until Game 4 like we had originally talked about. If we're down 2-0 at that point (or up 2-0!) there's no guy I'd rather give the ball to.
That said, I have faith in Zito in big games. Look what he did against the Angels on Friday. He always seems to come through on the big stage.
