Thanks guys, I do indeed have that option checked.

So, bottom line, the design decision isnt a bug but is a flaw. Got it.

It appears that a visit with the delete button is in order, followed by yet another universe--nah, lets use miniverse here, since no minors are actually viable without leaving the erase scrub option checked--creation oddysey. Guess I ought to defrag while Im at it.
