Well, not exactly the basketball Darryl Strawberry. As I recall, most of those baseball substance abuse repeat offenders (Straw, Steve Howe, etc.) all seemed to help out their teams, at least for a while. That's why they kept getting signed.

As for everyone's favorite overweight, no-talent, drug abusing, illegitimate kid-having loser, as a Laker fan, I was really depressed when Seattle sent him to the Eastern Conference - even when he was "good," you could always count on him to do something stupid at the crucial time to cost his team the game. Back in the 90s, I loved when the Lakers would get to play the Shawn Kemp Sonics - you could always count on Kemp coming through (for the Lakers) in the clutch. In fact, I went to a playoff game in the Del Harris era where Kemp got picked by George Lynch in the final minute of a tight game, giving the Lakers a win. Too bad he's been in the East for a while now - he's like the ultimate Washington Generals-type player.

On second thought, Vin Baker was like that too, and he's in the East now. Damn - if Portland gets rid of Rasheed Wallace, there won't be any freebies left for the Lakers.

Well, and San Antonio would have to move east too...

Okay, there's my purple-and-gold tinged rant for today......
