I'm thiniking of starting a new fictional league. I really like the players and stories and history that I've gotten in my league but the stats are too offensively for my taste.

A-Rod is 39 and has a shot at 900 home runs, although I think he is going to fall slightly short. He needs 35 more. Anyway I'm thinking of either trying to mirror the 50-60''s time period or the early 80's when teams like the Cardinals could compete.

I don't think the game is flawed, I think it is more of the fact that if baseball stays as offensive as it has been long term you very well might see guys hit 800 home runs.

If anyone has some good era settings for either, or both of these time periods please let me know. I could test it out but that was such a pain the last time I did that.
