Well, considering many people have developed friendly relationships with each other in online leagues, why should an invite league be any different than someone inviting a group of 15 or 20 friends over to his house for a party or something.
And I dont see what could be wrong with vultures. Why not add someone who is already involved in the league to your owner list instead of some random person who applies.
