Peluca Purchased by former OTBA owner, changes in the wind
PELUCA - Rumours of the sale of the Peluca Endurance finally came to fruition today as the estate of Luis Rivera announced that they found a buyer for the team. After being unanimously approved by the OTBA League owners, canadiancreed, former charter owner when the league formed in 2004, the sale became official.
Chris Creed had been one of the original owners in the OTBA when it formed in 2004, but met with roadblocks during his brief tenure with the Konvicts. The team moved to Ottawa soon after inception due to a lack of revenue, and then business matters forced the sale of the team after three un-remarkable seasons. He was brought back by new management after ihatenames experienced health issues as a result of too much poutine consumption, but was again out of a job by the end of the year after the team would slump under his one year reign. Since then cc has by his statement "sorted out his demons and streamlined his life". We're not really sure what that means, but he did seem to be far less stressed. Or maybe that was just the alcohol that he seems to always have with him.
The previous owner, Luis Rivera, captained the Endurance to the OTBA's first championship, but as his team slowly slid down the standings, so did his sightings. He had disappeared entirely in early October after taking a business trip to Jamaica. No-one had heard from him until January when a letter showed up from him, in manic writing, saying to sell everything, he had found heaven and was never leaving. They're sure it was from Rivera; the paper was made of hemp and had an overpowering air of recently ignited marijuana.
With the very few fans still left in Peluca that actually care about the time, concern about whether the team will be moved are the topic of the day. Well that and where to get cheap munchies. Only time will tell as to the fate of the Endurance, and if their "endurance" has finally run out.
