I was never able to resolve the issue. The game just kept locking up. There didn't seem to be a way to cancel a draft. I have the Mac OS X 10.3.4 version of OOTP.

I ended up starting over from scratch. I re-imported 400+ real major leaguers individually from the Arod23Garlon database and assigned them to their specific teams. I created 12 different ballparks, getting the park's dimensions from the internet and the ball park factors from the game. I created managers, coaches, doctors and scouts for each team and set strategy according to each "owners" preferences.

And... the game played and it has been fun. I'm into the 3rd year. It's neat to watch the computer managers make deals, sign free agents, etc.
