We invite you to join the Home Plate Baseball League

Taken from the front page of the Home Plate Baseball League (http://hpbl.pointatrad.com)

Quote:
When I brought back the HPBL in October of 2005, I expected it to actually last. I gave it to a person who I thought would make it bigger and better than it ever would. Well, just two months later, I hear from different owners that the commissioner was not communicating with other owners. And a few days later, I see the message on the web site saying that the BARSL (the former HPBL after my departure) has folded. I know some owners left the league when I left. Well, for those who did leave after I left, here's your chance. For those who stuck around until the end, here is your chance. The HPBL is back once again.
For those who didn't know what the Home Plate Baseball League is, we take the typical "real player" online league, and make it unique. We don't use a salary cap. We don't have a singular cash cap. We don't even use some trade committee that dictates where players go. Hell, we don't even use the OOTP's index page and have that as our web site along with some 3rd party message forum. Everything outside of OOTP is done by hand (or keyboard).

We use a structured financial system that allows all teams to spend their available cash, while allowing the small markets to be able to keep and sign players they wouldn't be able to sign under a simple salary cap league.

BOSI? Yep, we use that (if you see errors when you click on it, HERE IS WHY). CATOBase, yeah we use that too. Export tracker? Of course! Two different league files depending on your connection speed? You bet your (radio edit). League archives? Uh huh!

That's just call it how we run things, and it made us pretty successful.

The new incarnation of the HPBL will use Cubby Fan's 2006 opening day rosters Version 3, and will use OOTP 6.5 (which is required), as OOTPB 2006 is nowhere near ready for online league use.

Okay, enough of my rambling. It's pretty simple. If you're interested in joining the HPBL, you are welcome to do either one of two things:
1) Send an e-mail to raderick24@pointatrad.com. You are encouraged to send your name, e-mail address, AIM username (if you have one), and a little bit about yourself.
2) Create a thread in the league's Non-Owners Forum. You are encouraged to post your name, e-mail address, AIM username (if you have one), and a little bit about yourself in the thread.

The following teams are available:
Arizona Diamondbacks
New York Yankees
Philadelphia Phillies
San Francisco Giants
Texas Rangers

Have fun!
